Initial consultation and treatment for multiple complaints-$125
90 minutes to 2 hours

This visit is geared toward discovering and treating the root causes of your imbalances. In a traditional Chinese medical diagnosis, your issues are quite often interrelated, so a treatment can improve several problems at once.

Along with acupuncture you may receive electro-acupuncture, heat therapy, cupping, moxibustion, or Asian massage techniques like stretching, guasha, shiatsu, or tuina. Scroll down for more explanation on these treatments.

Additionally, during this appointment I will give you instruction on things you can do to help alleviate your problems at home. This may include taking an herbal prescription, dietary recommendations, vitamin and supplement suggestions, guidance in relaxation techniques, acupressure training, postural adjustments, and exercise advice specifically tailored to your complaints.

I want you to be an involved partner in your healing. People who do find they heal faster and often need fewer treatments in the long run.

With a less complicated medical history you may want to schedule an

I stock Chinese herbal medicinal extracts for most common complaints, and can order herbal formulas for your specific needs to be delivered directly to you. Herbs are not included in the treatment pricing.

In addition to acupuncture, I may incorporate Chinese bodywork and other techniques including:

Moxibustion, where herbs are burned over an area, or directly on the needle

Gua Sha where the skin is stroked by a round-edged instrument, bringing blood flow to the affected area

Shiatsu, or finger (shi) and pressure (atsu). A type of Japanese physiotherapy, where the stimulation is applied over a wider area, with fingers, thumbs, palms, and elbows

Tui Na with plucking, rolling, and pinching of the skin and underlying tissues

Stretching of tendons, muscles, and ligaments

Cupping, where a slight suction is applied to tight muscles with a plastic or glass device

Acupressure, with finger or tool pressure on the acupuncture points

Electro acupuncture, where a small pulsating electrical current is passed between pairs of acupuncture needles to treat neurological diseases, including chronic pain, spasm, and paralysis

Cosmetic acupuncture slows signs of aging, by evening and brightening the skin tone, reducing fine lines and softening deeper ones, firming jowls, and soothing under-eye bags and dark circles

Reiki or Qi Gong transfers universal energy through the palms to stimulate self-healing

Herbal liniments, balms, or salves may be applied to soothe painful areas
